From Tbilisi 60 km to south), in the mount heel landscape the rocky massif. The rocky cores rise straight from the earth. The Name Birtvisi (ბირთვი) the kernel land.
Birtvisi is interesting also from historical point. Between the rocks, between this core there is a fairly extensive area, where could be located some settlement. To get to this place is possible only through narrow passages.
The place has strengthened by the fortification buildings (X c.) what we can see there now and that gives to this place great mystery.
Tour to Birtvisi is good for people who likes trekking, discovering and being in wild nature. There are routs from simple, 6-7 km walking, and to difficult, using special equipments for climbing on rocks and go through deep canyons. I offer 1or 2 day tours to these places.
Hiking in these areas it is well combined with a picnic, barbecue, in summer time swim in a very beautiful lake what is close from here.
This place is always interesting even in Winter time!
